ChanTal is a Consultant in the firm’s Corporate and Commercial department where she leverages her strong background in business and law to deliver practical advice, solutions, and service.

ChanTal has a strong background in company law, having previously worked at the Companies Office of Jamaica, where she was an adviser to the Registrar of Companies and external persons on issues arising in relation to the Companies Act of Jamaica. She also assisted with the incorporation and registration of over one thousand companies and business names. She further honed her commercial law experience by acting in several multimillion-dollar debt and equity financing transactions, becoming well-versed in providing advice on corporate structures, and restructuring.

Serving as in-house counsel for a publicly listed company, and going on to serve as the head of one of its newly created business units, marked ChanTal’s foray into combining her legal skills with business. ChanTal notably served as General Manager for a major lotteries, gaming, and entertainment company in Guyana.

ChanTal, as a former member of the Jamaica International Financial Services Act (JIFSA) legislative committee, contributed to the development of the Partnership (General) Act, Partnership (Limited) Act, and the Trust and Corporate Services Providers Acts. She has served as the President of the Pacesetters Toastmasters club, and is an active member of the Jamaica Bar Association’s Commercial Law and Publications sub-committees.

ChanTal is passionate about supporting the start-up and growth of businesses in Jamaica, and openly shares this through her Youtube Vlog, “Tal Talks”, which is dedicated to assisting businesses with navigating some of the legal aspects of doing business in Jamaica.
